What is EXPD?

The University of Washington's Center for Experiential Learning and Diversity (EXPD) is home to nine programs, each of which connects UW undergraduates to compelling and invigorating opportunities to expand and enrich their learning.

Get involved in the community through the Carlson Center, Pipeline or Jumpstart!

Deepen your academic inquiry through the Undergraduate Research Program, Early Identification Program, Ronald E. McNair Program, or the Mary Gates Endowment for Students. Study abroad with the help of a Global Opportunities grant.

Clarify your goals and aspirations by working with the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards.

Embrace your entrepreneurial and civic spirit and be a Mary Gates Scholar!

Workshop for Veterans, Thursday, April 19, 3:30-4:20pm, MGH 171

EXPD works to support you in making the most of your undergraduate experience. Our nine programs can help you extend your learning beyond the classroom through various opportunities including volunteering in your community, mentoring and tutoring youth, taking a service-learning class, conducting undergraduate research, and earning scholarships and awards to recognize your efforts and help fund your current or postgraduate studies.

Equipment available for checkout

Through a grant from the Student Tech Fee, EXPD now offers computer equipment for checkout by students. A number of Mac laptops, PC laptops, netbooks, external hard drives, and Flip cams are available.
